I found my way back into the craft room finally...and whipped up 17, or was it 19 stockings for a gift drop-off. It was one of those feel-good projects, until I got to about 12 stockings. Then the french seams and careful finishing just got incredibly tedious. I did the french seams to add bulk to the outline of the stocking and help it keep its shape since the stocking is just unlined quilter's cotton (not awesome quality, but decent quality cotton) and I didn't want there to be any visible raw edges.
I really wasn't up to playing with fake fur, so I used polar fleece for the trim, and the fact that it doesn't require hems is a godsend. I'm sure that saved my sanity. As did refraining from sewing a snowflake sequin and bead into each of those scallops as I was originally planning.
A record of my quilting journey that I can share with friends and family who don't get access to the photo album in my living room.
